Construction & technology

Like every blade in the series, the LOTUS ZC 5.7 is a 7-ply construction: five wood plies and two soft PBO-Carbon layers. The top-boosted composite sits directly beneath the Koto outer ply, keeping the energy transfer direct and the response crisp. What changes is the thickness: at 5.7 mm the blade flexes a little more than the 6.0, which lengthens dwell time and gives a more elastic, connected contact. The hard Koto surface keeps the feel clear and accurate, while the thinner body lets the ball sit on the face a fraction longer — ideal for shaping spin.

Playing character

Compared with the 6.0, the LOTUS ZC 5.7 trades a measure of raw pace for touch and a longer contact feel during active rallies. It keeps the clear, direct Koto character of the LOTUS line, but adds a softer, more flexible playing experience that suits spin-oriented rallies, controlled drives and precise placement. There is still plenty of speed for modern attacking play — just with more margin and feel.

A softer handmade Viscaria alternative

For players familiar with the Butterfly Viscaria or similar Koto outer-carbon blades, the LOTUS ZC 5.7 offers a natural handmade alternative in the same modern offensive category — but with more dwell time, a softer contact feel and the individual feedback of a hand-tuned Palatinus blade.

Construction & technology

At its core, the LOTUS ZC 6.0 is a 7-ply blade: five wood plies combined with two soft PBO-Carbon composite layers. In this top-boosted construction, a PBO-Carbon layer sits directly beneath each Koto outer ply — high in the structure, close to the hitting surface rather than the centre. Placing the composite this close to the surface increases the blade's stiffness, so the ball leaves the face quickly and the feel on contact is direct and immediate, with minimal flex. The hard, fast Koto outer ply amplifies this character further, adding crispness and explosiveness to every stroke. The 6.0 mm build gives the blade a solid, well-defined structure with a precisely tuned sweet spot that stays stable at higher speeds, while the feedback remains clean and controlled, free of unnecessary vibration.

Playing character

The LOTUS ZC 6.0 is the fastest and most direct blade in the series. It offers raw power and a crisp, flat response while preserving the control needed for confident placement. It rewards players who attack early and finish decisively, yet keeps the touch communicative enough for precise, intentional shots close to the table.

A handmade Viscaria alternative

For players familiar with the Butterfly Viscaria or similar Viscaria-type Koto outer-carbon blades, the LOTUS ZC 6.0 is a natural point of reference — but with a distinctly handmade Palatinus character. It belongs to the same modern offensive category, while offering noticeably faster play, richer wood feedback and a warmer, more communicative touch.
